Community Policing Initiative Reduces Crime by 30%
The Ondo State Security Network Agency, also known as "Amotekun," has reported a 30% reduction in armed robbery and kidnapping cases since the introduction of community policing committees in all 18 LGAs. The Corps Commander attributed the success to intelligence sharing between citizens and security operatives. "Our people are now more willing to speak up because they trust their information will be acted upon," he said. Residents of Owo and Akoko areas have particularly praised the initiative. The government plans to recruit an additional 1,000 Amotekun personnel this year.
